A Wild West Adventure with Megan

I'm posting on Thursday this week instead of Friday, because I will be winding up a trip with a teenage granddaughter. This past week thirteen-year-old Megan and I have been exploring Mesa, Arizona, thanks to my role as a travel writer. Neither of us has ever been to the State of Arizona. We THINK we'll eat a lot of Mexican cuisine, feel extremely hot temperatures, and see an impressive number of cacti. We KNOW we're in for many surprises. I promise to share photos, observations, and recommendations in the coming weeks.

Megan lives with her parents and brother in Rome, Georgia. I don't get to spend nearly enough time with her, but maybe we'll be able to make up for some of that this week. We'll make our first-time discoveries TOGETHER. Bless her. She'll be sharing a hotel room with her Grandmother who has been known to snore. Get that mental picture. :) Megan lives in a houseful of introverts. Her Grandmother is NOT an introvert. Megan has a casual, no-fuss style about her. Her Grandmother is prissy to a fault. Again, bless Megan.

Pray that our time together will be sweet, full of laughter, and add layers of mutual understanding and love. Pray for us to be patient with each other. Pray that my GPS will get us to our hotel, attractions, and restaurants without undue angst. Pray for smooth, safe flights and on-time connections. But if we run into challenges, pray that we will face them bravely and with confidence in God's protection. Pray that the memories we make and the bonding we share will be happy and mutually beneficial.

Philippians 4:6 -- “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Psalm 127:3 -- “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.
