If you ever have a chance to take a walk around the campus of Belmont University in Nashville, by all means, do it. What a gorgeous place! The day Steve and I were there, the sky was blue, the temperature was in my perfect zone of 70-degrees, flowers were blooming, leaves were changing colors, and the stately buildings with stunning architecture were standing tall.
Our oldest grandson Luke is a sophomore at Belmont, studying primarily in the College of Entertainment and Music. Nothing could be more perfectly suited to his personality and interests. In just the few short months he has been on campus, the number of opportunities he's been exposed to is staggering. He was chosen for a service group that will escort celebrities on the red carpet for award shows such as the Country Music Awards, the Dove Awards, the Emmys, the Tonys, and many others. I don't normally watch those shows, but you can be sure I'll tune in when Luke is involved and sporting a tuxedo. Luke plans to spend a semester in Orlando working for Disney doing whatever job he's assigned and observing all the details involved in creating a magical experience for those who enter the theme parks. He has professors and faculty members with stellar resumes, and the environment for creativity is woven into every class. It is a true joy to see a grandchild thriving. Steve is proud to have a new Belmont sweatshirt and wears it hoping someone will ask about it. :)
Before we started our personal tour, Luke wanted us to try one of his newly discovered pizza places. There are two locations of Five Points Pizza in Nashville -- one in West Nashville, one in East Nashville. We visited the West location at 4100 Charlotte Avenue, about 12 minutes from campus.
It smelled great! The 2-slice-and-a-drink lunch special is very popular and easy on the budget. Look at the size of those slices!!
It was a wonderful day. What a blessing it is to see your children's children become the people God created them to be.
He will love working for Disney! Jane Hollis loved it and made friends from all over during her stay! Only 20% of applicants get hired 😍
